George Jenkins capped off one of its best seasons in recent memory on Friday night.
The Eagles jumped out to a big lead and never looked back as they beat visiting Poinciana 43-0 at Veterans Stadium. With the win, Jenkins finishes the year at 6-4. It’s the most wins in a season since the team went 6-5 in 2010. Coming into this season, the Eagles had won just eight games since that 6-win campaign.
T.J. Odom ran well as Jenkins took a 23-0 lead into the half and extended that to 37-0 after three quarters, walking away victorious on senior night. Jordan Domineck, Vance Jayden Monroe and Dez Flowers all put together strong final games for the Eagles’ defense in the shutout win.
“My senior leadership has been great all year long,” said Jenkins head coach Chris Canning. “The saddest part for me about the whole thing is I only had those kids for two years. I wish I could have had them for four.”
Congratulations on an awesome season, fellas!
