The George Jenkins Eagles Boys Track team will be well represented on the 2017 1st Team All-County Track Team as 4 athletes were named to the team: Didiah Hall, Davis Ott, Justin Slaton, and Terrance Denson.
Hall is coming off an amazing season where he placed 4th at the State meet in the 300 Meter Hurdles, while setting a school record and a top 50 U.S. mark with a time of 37.77. Hall also was the Regional, District, and County champion in the event.
Ott is the 2-time County and District Champion in the Pole Vault, while also claiming the Regional Championship this year. Ott finished in 3rd place at the State meet this year, adding to his 6th place finish at State last year.
Slaton won the County Championship in the Triple Jump and had the best mark in the event for the season with a jump of 42-1.25. Slaton was also the District Runner-Up in the event.
Only a freshman, Denson was the Polk County Championships Male Athlete of the Meet, as he won both the Long Jump and the 400 Meters. Denson also won the District Championship in the Long Jump when he soared to a school record jump of 22-3.75.
In only his 3rd year, Coach Robichaud was named Polk County Coach of the Year for the 2nd consecutive year. Coach Robichaud led the Eagles to the County and District Championships, while placing 2nd at the Regional Meet and 7th at the State Meet. Under his direction, the Eagles qualified 6 athletes for the State Championship Meet, medaling 5 of the 6 athletes, while also breaking 6 school records.
